Physical Description: 2 Baby Hyacinth Macaw parrots

Did You Know? The Hyacinth Macaw is the largest species of parrot in the world. Oh absolutely they are such beautiful animals, unique in size and the colors of their skin. Thus, their entire body is violet. To some people it may look blue and to others the item may look purple in colour. While this may be true, they also appear to be judging from the color depending on the light as well. That is why they are marked with neon yellow color near the eyes and the beak, on the background of dark plumage and stout black beak. Average Lifespan: This condition affects 40-60 years of age bracket population most of the time.

Sexing: Sexing these birds is sometimes a challenge because the birds do not have distinct features that can make you know that they are either male or female and so it has to be done by doing a DNA test on the birds.

Origin: Parts of Southern Brazil, the far west of Bolivia, and Santa Cruz

Trainability: Like most of the big Macaws, Hyacinth Macaws are not birds for everyone. Playful, they can get very destructive, if not entertained, or left on their own for ages. In this regard, it is suggested that one acquire a weaned, hand fed baby. Birds are expected to fly away from the nest and their mothers, thus hand feeding a baby you are going to keep all your life is not advisable. It will only cause more aggression later, when the bird gets lost and frustrated it cannot escape the ‘nest. ’ These birds are intelligent and relatively easy to train if effort is made.

They can understand a few words and perhaps some phrases but they are not very articulate. This parrot is playful and will take baths in water and often accompanies the owner in the shower. Others like Hyacinth also love playing outside hence it is always best to look for a way of ensuring that the child can play outside without being harmed.

Actually, Hyacinth Macaws are friendly and social parrots, which are practically not aggressive at all. Less likely to bite as other Macaws; this is quite shocking to most people because of their large sharp beaks. These birds are commonly referred to as the Gentle Giants in the bird kingdom, and all they really want to do is have fun. Thus, hyacinths can be characterized as AWESOME in every regard!

Loudness: According to the care instructions of the Hyacinth Macaw, like all Macaws, these birds are loud. Thus, we do not suggest them (or any of the large Macaws) for apartment dwelling or a small home. If you believe that a less noisy, a comparatively small bird is better for you, there are a lot of them.

Pricing: Hyacinth Macaws are considered to be large parrots that are expensive too and hence are not for everybody. However, if a viewer is interested in purchasing one of these baby Hyacinth Macaws or simply would like to see one of them, the viewer is welcome to contact the store at [email protected] to get the price and availability.
